Peep through the Muslim History
The funeral of Hazrat Khawaja Bakhtayar kaaki R.A was ready and one person got up from his seat and started to read the Will of Hazrat Khawaja Bakhtayar and the words of will were: ”Only that person can lead my funeral prayer who had been chaste all his life and never missed the four sunnah of Asr and the Takbeer-e-Tahreema”.
All the people were stunned after hearing this will and they were looking to the faces of one another. Sultan-e-Hind “Sultan Shamsuddin Altamash was also present in the funeral procession. He kept silent for some time and kept waiting for the desired person but no body came forward.
Then after waiting for some time, Sultan Shamsuddin Altamash came forward to lead the funeral prayer of Khwaja Bakhtiar Kaki while saying, “I never wished to publicize my praying habits but the will of Hazrat Khawaja Bakhtiar has to be fulfilled”. He came on the praying mat and led the funeral prayer.
What a great and pious Sultan (Ruler) he was. Can we compare the present Muslim Rulers with Sultan Shamsuddin Altamash?
