I would like to present some False Allegations of any so called scholar Mr. Zaidan against Holy Qur’an and its clarifications with authentic arguments by our two islamic brothers.

I would like to dedicate this post to Mr. Aamir & Mr. Ijaz who made research and provided the best possible answers to a fellow Blue Moon who posted allegations at the site. Read the allegations and the brilliant answers that would tickle you to say “Allah-o-Akbar” and strengthen your faith in Allah & Holy Qur’an.

Inconsistencies and Contradictions in the Quran

Moslems claim that the Quran is a literal inspiration from God; word by word and letter by letter which means you cannot find any one mistake or contradiction since God does not commit any mistakes. But in 2:97 God says that it was Mohammad’s heart that was inspired which implies inspired images not words since words are inspired to the mind. Actually nothing could be inspired to the heart since it lacks the mechanism of memory. Below you should find few of the contradictions and consistencies that do not befit the almighty God.

2:23. if you have doubts about our revelations to our servant ( Mohammad) call on your martyrs (Shohadaikum). It should be call on your partners ( Shorakaikum) as no one would call on the dead people to witness anything.

86:7 human sperms originate from between the back and the ribs, which contradicts the science of embryology which stresses that sperms originate from the testicles.

4: 78, 79. Verse 78 says that all actions good or evil come from God while the verse 79 says that good comes from God while evil comes from humans, an obvious contradiction.

37:139-145 Jona ( Younis) was ejected from the belly of the whale, while in 68:48-49 Jona was not ejected. Which is it ejected or not ejected?

2:6-7 God blinded the unbelievers as he closed their hearts, their vision and their hearing. Why would the loving God, who wanted everyone to believe, do that?

2:10 The kuffars are sick in their hearts and God increased their sickness. Is that logical that God would increase their sickness instead of healing them?

2: 264 God does not guide the Kuffars. Really? Isn’t like the physician who would not treat the sick? Who needs guidance the believer or the unbeliever?

4:88 Do you want to guide those that God had misled? Is that possible that the all loving God would mislead His own creatures?

6:149 If God wished He would have guided all of you. Status quo proves then that God did not wish to guide all! Obviously he did not want everyone to believe.

13: 33 If God misleads his creature no one can guide them. Again is it possible that the most merciful not only misleads his creatures but He does not want anyone else to guide them.

14:4 God misleads whoever He wants and guide whoever He wants. Aren’t we here witnessing God’s racism when He is being selective in guidance?

91:8 God inspires humans their good and evil. If God, in His unlimited capability, inspires good and evil for all beings, then we are either doomed or saved right from the beginning and we have no other alternative. Repentance means nothing when such a decision was already made.

18:83-86 Zu-El Qarnin found out that the sun sets in a hole of murky water. Really? The sun which is so much larger than the earth would set in a murky hole on the same earth. Those who claim that such a statement is attributed only to Zu-Al Qarnin are easily debunked by the holy hadeeth where Mohammad confirms the setting of the sun in a hole of murky water to Abu-Darr.

23:12-14 in Quranic embryology a stage is reached when it becomes bones then the bones are dressed with flesh ! Ignoring of course that the two flesh and bones are developed simultaneously in humans.

17:1 Mohammad visited Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. The problem is that there was no Masjid Al-Aqsa nor any other masjid during the life of Mohammad since Islam entered Palestine after Omar Bin El Khattab conquered Palestine after the death of the prophet. Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa was built almost sixty years after the death of Mohammad by Marwan bin Abdelmalik.

23:14 blessed Allah the best of all creators. How many creators do we have?

88: 20 The earth has been flattened. An obvious contradiction to simple science.

19:25 Shake the palm tree talking to Mary. First of all Bethlehem is a mountainous city where no palm trees grow anyway. Secondly dates from a palm tree mature in the summer time not the cold winter of December. Thirdly Christ was born in a manger. Fourthly it takes a superman to be able to shake the trunk of a palm tree.

5: 73 He blasphemes who says that God is one of three gods. Not defending Christianity, but no Christian claims that there are three gods. Obviously Mohammad was confused about the trinity which describes God as one with three different characters. Of course this claim is debatable.

31:10 God created the heavens and supported them with invisible pillars. Obviously Mohammad thought that the sky is nothing but some kind of a big tent which needs pillars to support it, but invisible (since we can’t see them). One should wonder about the millions of airplanes that fly everywhere without bumping into them!

71:15-16 God created the seven stories heavens and made the moon as a source of light in these heavens. The earth could hardly be seen by any distant star within the first level of heaven, let alone its moon. How then the same moon would light up the environment in other levels when it could hardly be seen or light our first level of heavens?

The poor authors of tafseer could not come up with any credible explanations to any of the above, as they naively try in vain to unveil the above contradictions.

Brother Aamir to Blue Moon’s Allegations:

it is quite evident that you are one of our non-muslim Brother/sister. but i expect you to be biasless in your approach, if you are truly in your quest to seek truth. And if you are just here to blame Muslims and Islam, and point the mistakes in Islam and Quran then with this intent, you can not reach truth.

As i am not a scholar myself, so to asnwer your allegations I Went through some videos of a scholar as well as Tafaseers. and i thank you that you put forward these allegations and hence God showed me an opportunity to read and learn more about Islam and Thanks to God that as a result, My Iman has increased, and now i believe more then earlier that Yes ! Quran is the true word of Allah. i will answer your allegations in parts, not all at once, as they need time to answer.

the context of the ayah 2, 6-7 is as follows:

Opposite of the people who accepted the truth (presented by Prophet Muhammad) with open heart, there were people who not only rejected the truth but also decided that they will never accept it in any case, whether its a truth or falsehood they will never ever accept this, and when man decides to reject some thing completely and in any case,then it is not the time for logics, to make him understand, then that person will take decisions on his Ego, bias and self-interests, and based on those decisions he negates biggest truths as well.at the time of Muhammad PBUH, this was the character of the leadership of Quraish. So God said to prophet that its usless to show them the right path, they will never understand.

Quran explains what was the factor which has become between them and truth.

The ayah says (tafseer) that God has Sealed their hearts and ears, and has put curtains “Parda” on their eyes, so they have no way out now, a great “Azab” Punishment is waiting for them.

Here in this ayah, God has told us His law of “Hidayat” (right path), and “Gumrahi” (Going Astray) in general, and has described it at other places of Quran in detail…the law of ‘how He shows a person right path and how He let some one proceed on wrong path. The Law is as follows:

when God sends man on earth, He sends him/her with noble, clean and simple nature. and instil the understanding of Right and Wrong in him/her. or we can say that this understanding is in-built in humans, this understanding makes them different from Animals and makes them “Ashraf-ul-Makhlookat” (the best of creatures).Man is a moral and logical (the one who can think) being. on the basis of this understanding of right and wrong, when man starts growing, his conscience starts warning him/her. this warning from his/her conscience is the first messenger of God, first “Hidayat” by God, the first warning by God.

when man rejects this voice of his conscience, and doesnt listen to this, and surrender him/herself to satan, God give him/her relaxation (giving a little time) for a certain time period. and when he/she doesnt get benefit of this relaxation, then God warns him from his surroundings, after those warnings, when he/she also neglects those warnings. and Quran explains that the reasons of this neglecting is nothing but he/she surredndering , or giving hold of his behavior, to the rigidness of his/her Nafs, Or he surrenders to his biases, or he/she makes his emotions dominanting his/her actions. when this is the situation, this person develops a specific rigid and biased behavior towards truth. and when this behavior reached to a certain peak, then God, as a punishment, puts seal on his/her heart. this seal on heart is as a punishment.

As a law of God, When that person Did not care about the guidance of God, and did not value that guidance, after giving relaxation for a certain time, God decides to leave him without the straight path in this world.

This is the thing which has been described as “seal on heart, eyes” in Quran. This law or punishment has been described differently on different occasions in Quran.
it is said that when a person makes his/her Heart Rigid and after giving relaxation for a certain time, God also makes his/her heart rigid and “Bended”.
It is said that when man forget God, for some time God creates reasons for him to remember God, but if he doesnt remember God, after that time God also forgets him,
it is said that When a person commits a sin, his hearts gets one spot of corrode, when he/she keeps on doing sins, after a time, his whole heart gets corroded.

this is the law of hidayah and “going astray”…that means when man buys astray (going to wrong path), when he prefer astray, when he loves astray, and when he makes astray purpose of his life, then God punish him with this punishment of “sealing his/her heart and ears”. One Punishment will be on the day of judgment, and one is this one which he/she will bear in this life.

All the Ayahs, being put by you as an allegation, are describing this law
the mistake on your part , or i should say on the part of the write of these allegations is that he did not read these ayahs in their context, and in the context of the whole preachings of Quran.

The same Law is applied on being virtuous. that is that when a man values the “Hidayah” which is being instilled in him/her (mentioned at the start), God creates more opportunities for him to get him/herself to the right path. Then when he starts struggling in the way of right path, God starts showing him ways to be on the right path, it has been mentioned in Quran. that Allah gives “Taufeek” to a person, who values the “hidayah” instilled in him. same things is described by Jesus (AS) that if God has given u a “cent” and you will honestly keep it, god will give u “dollar” (dollars and cents are used here to explain it), but if you will not value Cent and will be dishonest, then God will take away the cent as well.

So this Sealing, increasing sickness etc. is because of a person’s attitude towards truth. because of his/her own rigid and biased behavior towards truth.It would have been injust by the Raheem and Rehman God if He did not iniitially have given him chance, or did not have sent a messenger to them, or did not have shown them the right path and straight away put seal on their hearts or gave them a free hand to live in sins and go astray.
Rather when a person makes some thing his/her ego, and thinks that whether its right or wrong i will not accept it, then God applies His Law and punish that person not only in this world (according to the law i described earlier) but also in hereafter.

I hope the concept in your mind that God is being “cruel” in these ayahs of Quran is clear now.

The Ayah says that ” God gave him the understanding of Good (Naiki) and Bad (badi)”
I have explained this in the law of Hidayah and Gumrahi. but to elaborate a little more. God sent human in this world with this understanding of Right and wrong. He knows by birth that Lie is a lie and dishonesty is dishonesty. its just like when we say that we have been shown two paths, now its our initiative whether to choose the right path or wrong path. And when we will choose either one of them, The above mentioned Law of God will come in action.
Remember brother, God has created this world/Life as a test, and if God would have shown us onlythe right path or the wrong one, then it can not be called a test. He has given us the free will and shown us the right path. now its our Test and if we will succeed in this test, and will keep our selves pure, then He will give us Jannah as reward. this is the answer of your next allegation as well, which is:

Well i did not get any logic behind your alegation, here Allah is challenging the kufars of that time that if you have doubt in our revelation then bring one Surah like this and call your helpers except Allah, if you are true. i dont understand how you put “as no one would call on the dead people to witness anything.” here. at that time Arabs had a great belief in their Poets as well as their gods. this is a challenge to call them for help and bring one sura like this.

the above elegation is again baseless, as in first part, God told that a fish inhaled him, he was ashamed, and if he couldnt have been amongst the Praisers (tasbeeh kerne walay) then he would have lived in there till the day of judgment. so We (God) put him on dry land (meaning the fish throwed him out) . in ayah 68:48-49… God is not talking about the first part of the story where fish inhaled him and then throwed him out, rather He is warning prophet and telling him the later part and saying if we wouldnt have given him our hand, he might have been cursed and stayed on tht flat (and dry) ground foreva. well again im not a scholar, i just read Quran and these ayah and came to understand tht, i dont think so you have read Quran, i think u have just read these allegations and havent cross check them. and i think its a dishonesty with knowledge.

you are right that Al-Masjid Al Aqsa was not built at that time. the word Aqsa literlly means “the farthest ” here in Quran it has been used in the meaning of “the Farthest Mosque”. later, this same name was used for the mosque itself.
as Wikipedia explains (although its not one of the authentic source):

“The mosque itself forms part of the al-Haram ash-Sharif or “Sacred Noble Sanctuary” (along with the Dome of the Rock), a site also known as the Temple Mount in English and Har HaBayit in Hebrew, and considered the holiest site in Judaism since it is the site of the Temple in Jerusalem (Beit HaMikdash) destroyed by the Romans. Widely considered as the third holiest site in Islam, Muslims believe that prophet Muhammad was transported from the Sacred Mosque in Makkah to al-Aqsa during the Night Journey”
“Islamic tradition holds that Muhammad led prayers towards this site until the seventeenth month after the emigration, when God ordered him to turn towards the Ka’aba.”

it shows the presence of the place even at the start and before Islam, i will explain about it later as well. but there is no contradiction here, as i have explained the way the words were used in this ayah.

For 71:15-16, 31:10, 5: 73, 19:25, 88: 20, 23:12-14, 18:83-86 and 86:7
i will refer you to listen lectures and debates by Dr. zakir Naik, i can give you the link of his Videos as well. I m refering you to him, as he has answered all these questions in his debates and lectures regarding, Islam and Science, Islam and christianity and Islam and other religions. He has won several debates from christian missionaries as well. i am sure that you will find answers to every quesion, inshAllah.
and believe me NO scientific statement of Quran has been roved wrong up to this day. this is not merely a belief, but also a fact, which even non-muslims admit.

i will definitely answer these allegations as well. meanwhile you look into the lectures and debated on Dr. Zakir Naik.
i will repeat that im not a scholar, even then when i read your alegations and cross checked the with Quran, i found them baseless without any help from any scholar, i would advise you to read and understand it, and if possible clear your misconceptions with a scholar, not in a forum like this.

Now is the time to expose Zaidan and all others who support Islam-watch website. I was sure that these sites are sponsored by enemies of Islam and if you go check this one you will find out that it has tons of material published against Islam based on either false or baseless arguments like the ones Blue Moon has presented us. These websites present only negative image of Islam to mislead people with weak Imaan.

After reading this if Blue Moon is really seeking the truth, she should go ahead copy all the answers (given by sister Sana, Aamir and me) and paste them on Islam-watch website and then analyze who is right and who is wrong. If she don’t do that and keep searching the contradictions only then that time is not far when Allah will set a seal on her heart and close her vision and hearing.

No where in this verse Allah says “martyrs”. Read the Arabic text and find the meaning of “Shahid” it is a plural of this word which is used in this verse that means “witnesses’. So Allah is asking disbelievers to call their witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if they are truthful. You have to look at the context of the verse, it does not mean martyrs here.

No where in this verse Allah says that “human sperms originate from back and ribs”. Read the Arabic text and verse 6 uses the word “Ma” which means water. The actual translations is as follows. “He (man) is created from a water gushing forth. Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs”. Now if you want to discuss whether man is created from water then that is seperate discussion but the word “human sperms” is not mentioned anywhere in this verse. Quran uses word “Nutfa” for sperms.

There is no contradiction in this at all. Read verse 78 again, disbelievers used to blame Prophet PBUH that evil comes from him, so Allah replies to them that both come from Allah like Allah has created satan and has also given us Quran as guidance. Now verse 79 means, if you follow Quran good comes to you as Allah’s blessing but when you follow satan’s path or do against Quran then don’t blame Prophet PBUH for any evil that comes to you. It is you who is not following Allah’s path and if anything bad happens to you in a result then you are responsible for it.

This is nothing but confusion in your mind. The verses 37:139-145 are talking about Younis AS and a big fish swallowed him and after his repentance he was thrown on the naked shore. The verses 68:48-49, no where mentioned that he was not thrown. It says Allah forgave him so he was cast off on the naked shore. Can you explain something else out of it?

There is a big mistake in the meaning you took. The verse actually means “He has created the heavens without any pillars”. Read the Arabic text and the word “Beghair” means “without”. What stories of planes are you telling us? Is that in bible or it’s your own story??

Again you need to read the meaning of verse 16. The actual meaning is “And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp?” Now you tell me where is the contradiction? Modern science tells us that in this universe the stars are originating energy in the form of heat and light (lamp) and only moons are reflectors of light. Science proved that planets do not reflect light as moons because of their surface composition. Hence, Quran is 100% correct about moon as light and sun as lamp.

18:83-86 Zu-El Qarnin found out that the sun sets in a hole of murky water. Really?

This verse doesn’t say “hole”, the meaning is “Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy water”. Now here you need to understand a basic thing that Allah is communicating with mankind, so the attribute of literature would be used. Even now a days in different countries, different people say it in different ways. Someone say I drove it until sun set, other person would say I was at ocean I saw sun setting in ocean another would say I saw it setting in desert.
The real thing is when Zul Qarnain reached to a point from there onwards there was water (river or ocean or lake) and it was the time of sun set so he saw it setting in water. What is wrong about it now? It would have been definitely wrong if this verse would specifically be talking about Sun and where it sets, but that is not the case. Here you can’t take it in absolute meaning.

23:12-14 in Quranic embryology…

Here again it is just a matter of sequence and you are confused in it. Even if bones and flesh develops simultaneously, can you tell me using your common sense if there is no bone then where would you put the flesh. There has to be atleast 5 or 10% of bone present for flesh to be on it and if rest of the development happens concurrently, Quran is not talking about that. Did you bother to read the whole verse?

It says: “Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed”. Modern science has proved that when conception happens the embryo is attached firmly to uterus then Quran says: “Then We made the drop into blood clot”, Modern science has proved that in second stage embryo has blood in its sacs for nourishment and it is a blood clot and then later stages are also proved 100% accurate. Now tell me how could Prophet PBUH knew all this when modern science has recently discovered it using high tech devices. Offcourse, Allah taught him in Quran and science is proving it correct after 1400 yrs which is another miracle of Quran. These are miracles of Quran for the people of this century who want to seek truth and guidance and not for agnostic people.

This verse is not talking about scientific explaination of whether the earth is round or flat. In fact, the word “flattened” is not correct here the actual meaning is “And at the earth, how it is spread out?” You can’t deny that earth is spread out as you can walk on it, drive and so on.

If you want to extract science out of Quran then you will be lost. Quran never claimed that it’s a scientific book but in some verses you will find some scientific topics which again are not mentioned to explain science but to mention the signs from Allah that even today when somebody match them with modern science they are 100% accurate. No Prophet except Prophet Muhammad SAW was given this miracle that even after him the truth is coming out of his book. Can you get me one such miracle from bible or Torah??

I think Aamir has given good explaination on this, I’d only add that like you asked before what will happen to newborn of non-muslims, the answer was they will go to heaven. So it is clear that Allah does not close newborns heart, vision or hearing. And then refer to my comments that Allah Knows everything in advance but He gives us chance to listen and understand His message and guidance so that we don’t blame Allah on the day of judgement that we were not given a chance or everything was already decided.

Once Allah Knows that enough message and guidance has reached you so that you can’t make an excuse on the day of judgement He sets a seal on your heart, vision and hearing if He Knows that you will never return to his path. This confusion of yours is actually related to the issue which I have already addressed in comment 38. Please read it again and clear up your mind.

Again this is the same method of communication as Zul Qarnain’s story. Here the point is not that there are many creators, the message is that Allah is the best Creator which means you will not find any flaw in his creations. This can be a long discussion when you include disbelievers who used to say that they created things…it needs separate discussion.

Who said that Jesus was born in winter or December. This is what Christians say. Quran never said that. “Christ was born in a manger” who is claiming that, if you believe in what is written in Bible which had been corrupted even before Islam then I am sorry for you that your knowledge is based on corrupt and false information. If virgin Mary can give birth to a son with Allah’s Command then why can’t she shake the palm tree?

You said no Christians claim that there are three gods. However, the basic belief in Christianity is belief in God the Father, Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Holy Spirit. They give same place and respect to Jesus and Holy spirit as God (Allah), this is shirk (making partners with Allah) and that is what this verse is pointing towards. I don’t know which world are you living in, if there is any Christian in this world who does not believe in this trinity then please let’s us know also.
