Javed Ahmed Ghamdi – A so-called Islamic scholar who has reached the boundries of Blasphamy by saying “Islam does not give us a complete code of life” in his program “Ghamdi” at Geo tv on 1st january, Thursday 11:05pm.

Let me share my knowledge with you about “Islam is a complete code of life”.

When we read Qur’an or the Prophetic traditions, we find instructions and guidance regarding all aspects of our life whether its political, social, economic, material, ethical, national and international etc. These instructions provide use of the necessary details to perform every act.

Even that Prophetic traditions explains us the minor to minor instructions, you can take example of “ettiquettes regarding “the usage of washroom”, entering, using and leaving it etc

As we mentioned above, when we read the Quran or the Prophetic traditions, we find instructions regarding all aspects of life. The following are some Quranic verses and Ahaadeeth (traditions), which reflect the comprehensiveness of Islamic economic, social, religious and cultural values.

Fair/Honest Dealing in Trading, Buying and Selling

Allaah Says (what means): “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allaah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: and fear Allaah. For Allaah is well-acquainted with all that you do.” [Quran 5:8]

Hakim bin Hizam (R.A) narrates that Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said, “The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost.” [Al-Bukhaari]

Weighing/ Measuring of Goods for Business

Prohibition of Bribery

Allaah Says (what means): “And do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it (in bribery) to the rulers in order that (they might aid) you (to) consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know (it is unlawful).” [Quran 2:188]

Abdullah bin amir bin al-’Aas (R.A) that he heard Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) saying that “Fornication will not appear among any people without their being punished by famine, and bribery will not appear among any people without their being punished by terror.” [At-Tirmithi]

Avoidance of Hoarding and Monopoly

The Prophet, sallallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “Do not withhold your money by counting it (i.e. hoarding it), (for if you did so), Allaah would also withhold His blessings from you.” [Al-Bukhaari]

Paying Salaries/Wages of Employees/Laborers on Time

The Prophet (S.A.W.W) said: “Allaah says: ‘I will be against three persons on the Day of Resurrection: 1. One who makes a covenant in My Name, but he proves treacherous; 2. One who sells a free person (as a slave) and eats the price; and 3. One who employs a laborer and gets the full work done by him but does not pay him his wages.’” [Al-Bukhaari]

Prohibition for Fighting/Murder and Other Crimes

Allaah’s Messenger (S.A.W.W) said: “When two Muslims fight (meet) each other with their swords, both the murderer as well as the murdered will go to Hell-fire.” It was said: “O Allaah’s Messenger! It is all right for the murderer but what about the murdered? Allaah’s Messenger, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam replied: “He surely had the intention to kill his companion.’” [Al-Bukhaari]

Peace and Reconciliation

Allaah Says (what means): “The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allaah; for Allaah loves not those who do wrong.” [Quran 42:40]

Respect and Kindness to Women

Allaah Says (what means): “O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the dower you have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness. On the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity if you take a disliking to them it may be that you dislike a thing, and Allaah brings about through it a great deal of good.” [Quran 4:19]

Kindness to the Family, Parents, Relatives, Orphans, the Poor, the Needy and the Weak

Allaah Says (what means): “…Treat with kindness your parents and kindred, and orphans and those in need; speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and give zakaah (poor due)…” [Quran 2:83]

Respect to Non-Muslims (People of the Book)

Allaah Says (what means): “And dispute not with the People of the Book, except in the best way; unless it be with those of them who do wrong but say: ‘We believe in the Revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; our God and your God is One; and it is to Him we submit (in Islam).” [Quran 29:46]

Purification of Body: Wuzu (ablution) and Namaz (Prayer) and Fasting (Saum):

Islam teaches you how to purify your soul and body by having ablution and Namaz five times a day and Fasting. You can have a look at the research of Modern Science in West that admires the benefits of Wuzu and Namaz regarding healthy body and healthy mind.If you are not aware of it, please go to the following link to read it in detail :

Many other articles here can lead you towards the benefits of Namaz. So here again Islam gives you “the code of Healthy Body and Healthy Mind”.

Purifying Tax (Zakat):

This is an annual payment of a certain percentage of a Muslim’s property, which is distributed among the poor or other rightful beneficiaries.

Diet:

Islam gives you the description of foods and tells you about the Halal and Haram foods in detail.Islam allows Muslims to eat everything which is good for the health. It restricts certain items such as pork and its by-products, alcohol and any narcotic or addictive drugs.

Hijab / Pardah:

One important aspect that is often overlooked, however, is that the hijab is a symbol of Muslim identity. A woman who covers her head is making a statement that she is a member of the Muslim community and that she follows a particular code of moral conduct. Allah says:

O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters and the believing women to draw their outer garments around them. That is more suitable that they will be known (as Muslims and chaste believing women) and not be abused. (Qur’an: 33:59)

It tells us how to cover ourselves (females) to avoid the evils of society. It is a tragic and upsetting phenomenon to see so many Muslims dressing in the manner of the disbelievers (blue jeans, T-shirts, short skirts, even shorts).

The Prophet (SAWS) said; “Whoever resembles a people is one of them” (Abu Dawood).

To conclude that Islam tells us how to behave your family members, wives, your parents, even that your younger ones. It gives you the satisfactory knowledge for “how to react while in anger”, It also guides us towards the rights of neighbours, and even the minor act of drinking water with right hand, while sitting and so on. It tells us to have little morsals of bread and to do every good act with right hand. It tells us about the cleanliness and gives us the complete guidance about it.

We come to know about the evil results of backbitting, lie, theft, hypocracy and fornication/ adultery etc in the light of Islam.

It makes us conscious about brotherhood, kindness not only with human beings but also with animals etc.

So how Ghamdi can say that Islam is not complete code of life. Islam gives us everything we need to live a successful life. It gives us the examples from Prophetic traditions about every matter regarding life.

The links given above tells you his way of thought. Just click them and read them.

Ghamdi needs to study Islam closely before expressing this type of base ideas. A person who denies the Surah from Qur’an, and who does not believe in Hadith, who wants to abolish the 295-C law of Blasphemy from Pakistan, who says that Islam has no concept of Hijab, All sort of Singing and Dancing is fair in Islam, do you still consider him Muslim????
